A tragic single-vehicle crash took place on Thursday morning, Nov. 28, six miles south of Wagner, resulting in the death of a 29-year-old woman. The South Dakota Department of Public Safety reported that the driver of a 2012 Dodge Charger entered the west ditch near 395th Ave. and 305th St., vaulted over the culvert, and rolled, causing the driver to be ejected and sustain fatal injuries. It was noted that the driver was not wearing a seat belt at the time of the crash, which occurred around 5:56 a.m. The identity of the victim has not been released pending notification of family members. The South Dakota Highway Patrol is currently investigating the crash, and all details provided are preliminary in nature. The Highway Patrol, an agency of the South Dakota Department of Public Safety, is dedicated to determining the cause of the incident.
