Thanksgiving Day saw a storm on the East Coast causing travel woes for thousands of people, with heavy snow in the interior Northeast and winter storm warnings in effect. Air travel was also affected, with delays in Denver and Newark due to a shortage of air traffic controllers. Travelers are advised to be cautious as they head into the East Coast with rainy and snowy conditions expected. More cold weather is on the way as Siberian air brings frigid temperatures to various parts of the country. Temperatures will drop significantly in many areas, with nighttime temperatures dipping below freezing in the South. Sunday is expected to be challenging for travelers as 3 million people are expected to pass through TSA checkpoints to return home. For those driving back, Sunday afternoon and Monday morning are predicted to be the worst times to be on the road. Despite the harsh weather conditions, a record number of people are expected to travel by car for the Thanksgiving holiday. While challenges are present, many travelers are still looking forward to spending time with family and loved ones.
