Aspen High School senior Lenna Persson recently signed her letter of intent to compete in women’s golf for South Dakota State University. Persson, a standout golfer for the AHS girls, has won three individual regional championships and has been a key player in the team’s success. She will be pursuing a degree in psychology at SDSU with the goal of becoming a sports psychologist in the future.
Persson’s journey to committing to SDSU involved reaching out to college coaches and eventually receiving offers from four schools. Ultimately, she chose SDSU due to its competitive golf program and academic offerings. Persson, who is also an accomplished mogul skier, will continue to compete in skiing this winter before focusing solely on golf in college.
Despite the distance from Mount Rushmore, Persson is excited to embark on this new chapter in her life and pursue her passion for golf at the collegiate level. She credits her hard work and determination for achieving her goal of playing Division I golf and looks forward to making an impact both on the course and in the world of sports psychology.
