Lebanon sees deadly attacks targeting health workers

The World Health Organization has raised concerns about the rising attacks on health care workers in Lebanon, with 24 attacks resulting in 27 deaths and 55 injuries. Smoke billowed from an Israeli airstrike in southern Lebanon, with over 92 people killed and 154 injured in Israeli raids across the country. Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu has defied international calls for a cease-fire and vowed to continue hitting Hezbollah “with all our might.” Despite this, Israel has expressed appreciation for U.S. efforts in proposing a cease-fire initiative, with discussions ongoing between the two countries. The health ministry in Lebanon reported that over 700 people have been killed since the start of Israel’s aerial offensive on Monday. The situation in Lebanon remains dire, with ongoing violence and attacks on health care facilities posing a significant threat to the population.
