As the investigation into Jeffrey Epstein’s associates continues, new court filings and reports from The Wall Street Journal and The New York Times have revealed a growing list of prominent individuals who were connected to the notorious sex trafficker. Names previously unknown as Epstein’s associates, as they did not appear in his infamous black book or in publicly available flight logs, have come to the forefront.
The latest documents obtained include thousands of emails and private schedules of Epstein dating from 2013 to 2017, revealing deeper ties with some prominent figures already associated with him. Some of these ties were established after Epstein’s 2008 guilty plea in Florida and the public accusations of sex trafficking made by victim Virginia Giuffre in 2015. The schedules detail numerous meetings Epstein planned, many of which took place at his Upper East Side townhouse, a location where he allegedly sexually abused women and girls.
New names that were revealed in the reports include presidential candidate Robert Kennedy Jr., who flew on Epstein’s plane multiple times. Billionaire Sergey Brin, co-founder of Google, advised by Epstein on setting up a tax shelter, billionaire and Apollo Global Management co-founder Leon Black also received similar guidance from Epstein, and longtime Israeli politician Ehud Barak was a regular guest at Epstein’s townhouse from 2013 to 2017. Bill Gates also had an association with Epstein in the early 2010s, and a woman named Mila Antonova claimed Epstein attempted to leverage his knowledge of the affair between her and Gates against the Microsoft co-founder. Antonova and Boris Nikolic, a friend and then-scientific adviser to Gates, expressed regret over their association with Epstein.
Details from the documents also implicated John de Jongh’s wife, Cecile de Jongh, who allegedly helped arrange visas for some of Epstein’s victims and reportedly worked for Epstein when her husband was serving as governor of the U.S. Virgin Islands. Additionally, longtime Bard College President Leon Botstein admitted to heavily involving himself with Epstein out of interest in the financier’s money, and accepted $150,000 in checks from an account linked to Epstein in 2016.
As the investigation continues, the web of Epstein’s associates continues to grow, and many prominent figures have found themselves facing scrutiny for their past associations with the notorious sex trafficker.
